Make a Difference in the World

Who has impacted your life recently? Think for a moment. What one or two people in your life have impacted you recently? People who impacted your life in such a way that by their crossing your path, you knew you were more than you thought. You might realize some things about life and yourself that empowered you, lifted you up or prompted you to see something about yourself you had not seen before.

Whose life did you impact recently? We are here to make a difference in the world. We each have unique gifts to offer ourselves and others. What unique gifts do you possess? While many people might have the same skills and talents, no two people’s skills and talents are exactly alike. We know this to be true, because, artists, singers and actors have their skills and talents well-honed. No one sings a song the same way, albeit, the lyrics are the same. No two actors play the part the same, albeit the script is the same, and no two artists will paint the picture exactly the same.

Throughout your day, where you are, make a difference. When you cross someone’s path, you can be a demonstration, an example, and a presence of love and impact. Commit to making an impact in someone’s life every day. Making an impact can be as simple as smiling, saying, ‘Hello,’ to a stranger, opening a door, assisting someone who is struggling with a task. One of the ways, I make an impact in people’s lives is helping a parent with a cranky or crying child. I offer my assistance. Sometimes making eye contact, smiling or a kind word will shift the child’s mood.
